Mathis Apologizes To Teammates At Offseason Workouts For 4-game

C.J. Fair, the 6-foot-8 senior forward out of Syracuse University, is wasting no time in scheduling individual workouts with NBA teams in hopes of being selected in the NBA draft. Fair worked out for the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday and has three more workouts already scheduled, according to his agent. "He's going to work out for Milwaukee and Charlotte next week,'' Torrel Harris said. "And he's got a workout in June with the (San Antonio) Spurs.'' The workouts come on the heels of last week's NBA pre-draft combine in Chicago.
Source: http://www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/index.ssf/2014/05/syracuses_cj_fair_has_workouts_lined_up_with_three_nba_teams_plus_one_in_the_ban.html

Who Will Step Up for Colts While LB Robert Mathis Is Suspended? Andy Lyons/Getty Images Last Friday, the NFL announced that Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis, who led the NFL with 19.5 sacks last season, has been suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. And while Mathis released a statement (via the Facebook page of ESPN's Adam Schefter) claiming the violation came as a result of a fertility drug, the NFL issued a strongly-worded statement (via Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star)that seems to indicate that Mathis will indeed miss the full four games. Outside of Mathis, the team's leading sack artist in 2013 was linebacker Jerrell Freeman with 5.5, so it goes without saying that this is a significant blow to the team's defense, especially considering they start the season in Denver and then host Philadelphia in Week 2. Last year, the Broncos and Eagles possessed the top two offenses in the NFL.
Source: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2068227-burning-questions-for-nfl-offseason-workouts

He also said he did not check with league officials or the players union to determine if anything he used might cause a positive drug test. Defensive end Cory Redding, one of Mathis' closest friends, says he didn't need to hear an apology. He says Mathis acknowledged it was his mistake.
Source: http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2014/05/21/mathis-apologizes-to-teammates-at-offseason-workouts-for-4-game-suspension/

Burn more calories the fun way "Gym and other exercises leave you sweaty and exhausted in this hot weather and if swimming is not your favourite sport, then aqua workouts are the best option," informed Priyanka Bhavalkar, a freelance aqua zumba instructor. Speaking on the effectiveness of these workouts, she added, "The advantages of aqua workouts are similar to those of regular exercises but continuous resistance in water forces one to use more muscle fibre which results in greater inch loss. If regular zumba enables one to lose eight calories per minute, aqua zumba has the capacity to burn 11 calories a minute." Amrita Yadav, another aqua zumba and aerobics instructor said, "There can be nothing more fun than dancing in water, plus you work out double as compared to working out on land. Also a lot of movements like jumps, lifts, jumping jacks, criss cross etc, that are difficult to perform on land become effortless in water due to buoyancy.
Source: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/health-fitness/fitness/Puneites-opt-for-aqua-workouts-this-summer/articleshow/34639443.cms

Is American Christianity Becoming A Workout Cult? - The Daily Be

Jews are fretting about the breakdown of traditional denominational lines, as young Shin Ohtake people gravitate to communities that shy away from the old Reform/Conservative/Orthodox model. Pope Francis aside, the Catholic Church wonders if it can hold onto, well, anyone in the global North. Pew Research Center surveys show young people expressing plenty of spirituality, but more and more skepticism about religious institutions. And mainline Protestant denominations find themselves shrinking. Instead, the past few years have seen a surge of small, casual, and intensely local churches that resist institutional authority. The emerging church movement, in particular, has embraced a kind of steady, decentralized growth that can seem CrossFit-ish. (It also resembles the ancient Church, before Christian hierarchies coalesced; CrossFit didnt invent this kind of loose-knit, small cell structure.) CrossFit boxes that boast of starting in garages and spreading by word of mouth might find much that seems familiar in the world of house church , small group fellowships, young church planting movements (such as Vineyard ), and emerging church communities. Im not saying that churches or other religious organizations are actively looking to CrossFit for guidance.
News source: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/04/27/is-american-christianity-becoming-a-workout-cult.html
